基甸·菲尔博士

　　基甸·菲尔博士，那个胖胖的前任校长，又是个编词典的，同样也是写英国饮酒史的人物。乍一看他，你就会被他的体形所吸引。他给人的第一印象是那张又大又圆的脸，红通通的脸上所展现出来的笑容总是毫不吝啬，一边笑还会不停地喘息。其次引人注意的就是他的服饰，一条有折缝的黑披肩，头上经常戴着的那顶铲形帽，手里还驻着藤条拐杖。

　　菲尔博士的肥胖总是让人觉得和蔼可亲，许多人会误以为他的智商仅仅和他的灵活程度一样，却不知事实上，他的侦探才能和他的腰围一样粗，而且博学多才，任何诡计总逃不脱他的法眼。歇洛克·福尔摩斯总是蹑手蹑脚、匍匐前进寻找着烟灰或毛发，假如菲尔博士也这样的话他估计就再也爬不起来了。他并不依靠那些表象的证据，而是在“不经意”之间从“毫无联系的事实”中找到重要线索。

　　菲尔34年的侦探生涯共诞生了23部小说。
